Petro Carbon & Chemicals Private Limited (PCCPL), a division under Atha Group located at Haldia was incorporated in September, 2007 and was subsequently acquired, revamped and upgraded into a CPC Plant in May 2008. Since then, the Group has been successful in evolving PCCPL into a sizeable CPC player in the Indian Market.

Calcined Petroleum Coke (CPC) is the product from calcining raw petroleum coke (RPC). The raw coke is the product of the coker unit in a crude oil refinery. CPC is used to make anodes for aluminium smelting, and is also used in dioxide industry, steel and titanium.

PCCPL is strategically located within the port perimeter and has easy and fast access to all the strategic transportation. Closest Railway Station is Durgachalk Town which is 1.5 Km away from Haldia Plant. Closest PORT is Haldia Dock Complex-Calcutta Port Trust which is 3 Km to 4 Km away from Haldia Plant. Closest Airport is Calcutta Airport which is 155 Km away from Haldia Plant.

Infrastructure Facility

  • The plant has an installed capacity of 93,750 tons per annum of CPC and is located on a 30 acre plot of land and started production from November 2008.
  • This plant has its own railway siding which is 2.385 km long (approx.) connected with the CPT railway siding which provides strategic logistics cost advantage.
  • The major customers which we sell to are Hindalco, Nalco, etc.
  • Logistically PCCPL is nearer to all the major smelters in India namely Hindalco, NALCO and Vendanta.

A Complete Carbon Complex

  • Total area of the plant is 30 acres out of which the plant area is 15 acres and remaining 15 acres is currently unutilised.
  • The Company is planning for an expansion of another 2,00,000 MT of CPC which would make the CPC annual production capacity to 2,93,750 MT
  • The company is in discussion with various technology providers for the new Greenfield Project of manufacturing of Graphitized Petroleum Coke and Anode Quality Graphitized Petroleum Coke.
  • The company is also planning to foray into Electric Calcined Anthracite (ECA) Project and as a forward integration to setup a Temping Paste Project as well
  • PCCPL would like to be a complete Carbon Solution Provider and to achieve this vision we would definitely set up capacities of Battery manufacturing and its components. For this we are looking forward to partner with Battery and its component manufacturers from around the world as strategic partners or technology providers
